District 200 is governed by a Board of Education made up of seven residents of the school district elected to serve staggered four-year terms without pay. The Board of Education determines the policies which guide the operation of the school district and establishes the “ends,” or desired outcomes, for the district to achieve. The Superintendent and administrators then carry out those policies by overseeing the management, operation and procedures of the school district. Current members are pictured above and are, left to right, front row: Marcy Piekos, Sue Palmore, Dr. Katherine Lechner and Camille Goodwin. Back row: Paul J. Meyer, Robert Birchfield and Russ Goerlitz.
School board meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month unless otherwise announced. Meetings are held at the Clay Professional Development Center (Clay PDC). The PDC is located on the second floor of Clay Academy at 112 Grove Street, Woodstock.
Attendance is welcome at all meetings, and a specific time is set aside on the agenda for public comment. By law, all board discussion and deliberation must be conducted in public, except for certain specific matters such as personnel and student disciplinary cases. All official board action (voting) is taken in public.
